While attending an Invictus Games-related event, a training session for Nigeria: Unconquered at the Defence Headquarters Officers’ Mess in Asokoro, Abuja, the couple was invited to watch a sitting volleyball game. The charity uses sport to encourage recovery and rehabilitation in wounded, sick, and injured service members, with the goal of “helping them find new purpose.”

Nigeria competed in the Invictus Games for the first time in September 2023, at the tournament in Dusseldorf, Germany. There, Harry and Meghan met General Christopher Muse, the country’s chief of defence staff, who invited them to Nigeria. At last year’s Invictus Games, Harry and Meghan met Nigerian athletes and fans. The Duchess was also given the Nigerian name, Amira Ngozi Lolo. Amira is a legendary warrior princess, Ngozi means ‘blessed’, and Lolo means ‘royal wife’. Harry and Meghan’s visit to Nigeria has also been criticised with the royalists who are always so ready to comment on them but what makes it interesting is the fact that Harry and Meghan can’t stop doing their thing and can’t be interrupted with them. I liked a comment from Dr.Shola concerning Harry’s visit to the injured in the hospital while in Nigeria, the images shared are so much touching and definitely one can be moved by the humanitarian work Harry is showing expecially on their recent visit. This has also showed the image of Princess Diana in Harry because basically Harry is doing what his mother liked the most.

“The image of Harry and this Nigerian veteran powerfully resonates humanity, comradeship, compassion & an indomitable spirit of strength from both men that draws in so much that unites us. I feel drawn in.

Harry is his mother’s son through & through. Princess Diana would be so proud.” From Dr.Shola.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated three-day visit to Nigeria began with a solo journey from Abuja to Kaduna. On Friday, May 10, Harry, 39, boarded a plane bound for Kaduna as part of his itinerary to meet with dignitaries and organizations throughout the country.Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State welcomed Prince Harry on a red carpet. The governor and Harry gathered outside the Governor’s Office to watch the welcome ceremony, which included lively performances by local dancers.

I know the royalists are so anxious about Harry and Meghan’s activities in Nigeria and funny enough, Harry and Meghan received the best security and a very warm welcome to Nigeria which was not expected by the royalists. The same British media who have been talking of how Harry and Meghan are not royals are also commenting about the way they behave and that they broke the royal protocol. They still spy on them and also acting as if they are not really interested buta they sound to be so envious and they are so keen on the steps Harry and Meghan make.During the first day of her and Prince Harry’s inaugural visit to Nigeria, the Duchess of Sussex wrote a sweet note about the African country after previously revealing her heritage.

“With gratitude for the support of the Invictus community. And for welcoming me home,” Meghan, 42, wrote while signing a visitor’s book at the Defence Headquarters in the heart of Abuja on Friday, May 10.
