A game based on the oxford dictionary means an activity that people engages in for amusement or fun but in the royal family “The Game” has a very different meaning. It carries several meanings for example playing the game can mean giving British tabloids access to members of the royal family that is the principals in the royal family like King Charles, William, Kate and Camilla in exchange for good press or good media coverage.
Playing the game also means performing for the British tabloid press for example touching each other affectionately to ensure the cameras capture you together, like how Kate Middleton touches Williams back to generate coverage to keep up the façade that their marriage is doing well or to manipulate the public that they love each other in reality William can’t stand even being touched by his wife Kate Middleton.
In the Harry and Meghan Documentary, Prince Harry said that royals don’t marry for love and one must never forget that when he said that immediately the British press said that he was talking about Prince William and Kate Middleton even though Harry never said William and Kate’s names. So clearly this proves British tabloids are covering for Williams and Kates sham of a marriage.
The game also means access whereby the British tabloids give you good press if you as a parent are willing to serve your son or daughter up on a silver platter like how King Charles would sell Harry out to the British press in exchange for good press for himself. When Princess Diana died, there was so much public outrage towards how the British press and the Royal family meaning Charles in particular had cruelly treated Princess Diana. Charles needed to rehabilitate his image, so he made a deal with the British press who wanted access to William and Harry and so Charles served up Harry and William to get good press for himself and Camilla Parker Bowles his then mistress.
Prince Harry and Meghan have refused to play this game and offer themselves and their kids on a silver platter to the British Press in exchange for good press and for that other reasons they have been targeted, attacked and trolled by the British press for years to this day. In the words of Meghan from the Cut magazine interview “Why would i give a photo of my son to those calling him the N word rather than share a photo of my son with those who actually love him, you tell me how that makes sense and i will play the game”
Meghan has made it very clear that she will protect her children and never hand them over to the British press and why would she after everything the British press and the institution have put Meghan through.
